Position Overview
AE Works is looking for a talented Architect 3 to join our team and to actively participate in projects. In this role, you will have an active sense of ownership and responsibility for assigned tasks and projects. Mentors other staff, engages with the team to show leadership skills and support the project team, leads the execution and delivery of building projects along with ensuring that both new construction and renovation projects meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Has the ability to manage one or more small to medium projects at a time
You will be part of a studio, working closely with architects, interior designers, engineers and other internal team members, and subconsultants. This position will provide you with the ability to grow the skills of leadership, communication, and problem-solving. You’ll be able to grow to mentor new team members, champion best practices, and represent AE Works at industry events.
Location: Arlington, VA and Pittsburgh PA with travel to client and project sites.
Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities: Leads the design approach for small to medium sized projects. Has the ability to prepare, coordinate and complete a construction document package including drawings and specifications as the discipline lead. Leads coordination of all disciplines. Responsible for applying relevant codes to the project with minimal supervision. Leads construction administration with minimal supervision. Mentors and trains Jr staff. Organizes and leads team meetings involving consultants and owners, Identifies and wants to implement improvements to internal systems.
Client Engagement: Demonstrates ability to interact professionally with clients. Can professionally lead client meetings and can build strong, positive client relationships. Show leadership growth to owning 1-2 client relationships.
Quality Assurance: Support the project performance and conduct thorough reviews of the project documents, promote progress reviews at the team level and perform self QAs of personal work to ensure projects meet quality standards and client expectations.
Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry advancements, emerging technologies, and market trends. Seek continuous education to be better informed of the emerging technologies and innovative solutions to enhance project outcomes and client satisfaction.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and consultants, to ensure seamless integration of design and construction efforts. Promote open communication and coordination to resolve challenges and achieve project goals efficiently.
Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of industry experience. required.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in Revit and relevant rendering software. High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams. Skilled with using cloud based and mobile technology for collaboration.
- Attributes: Exceptional communication and listening skills, capable of managing multiple assignments simultaneously. Strong leadership and organizational abilities, along with a commitment to actively engage and contribute to our company culture.
- Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture.
- Licensure: Registration not required but in progress or RA, NCARB.
- Certification: LEED AP, WELL is a plus but not required
