AE Works is actively seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to join our team.  As the Electrical Engineering Manager at AE Works, you will play a pivotal role in the leading the design of our largest projects as well as leading and mentoring a talented team of engineers. Individuals who are qualified for this position shall possess the ability to work directly with clients and lead the discussion during presentations, shall have excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical/problem skills, and lead and work within a multi-discipline team setting.

This position is based out of our Arlignton, VA office with occassional travel to project/client sites and other firm office locations. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and construction administration of power, lighting, and fire alarm systems for building projects, both new construction and renovation, within various market segments.
  • Lead coordination of drawing sets with the project team, including in-house architects and interior designers and sub-consultants.  Compile drawings and specifications at each project submission.
  • Participate in meetings, internally and externally, to collaborate with other team members and Clients.
  • Champion engineering design relevance within the firm through mentorship and training.
  • Travel with team members for onsite collaboration, investigations, and project presentations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering or Electrical Engineering, from an accredited university.
  • PE license required, with ability to pursue licensing via reciprocity in additional states.
  • Familiarity with Revit and other relevant design software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes.
  • Ability to manage and mentor electrical team members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
